Level 4 – Diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment
Non Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA) L4
The Level 4 Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA) qualification allows assessors to complete Energy Performance Certificates on most existing commercial buildings (Not Level 5 buildings) with frequently occurring characteristics, more complex heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems than level 3 buildings, the Level 4 qualification also allows assessors to complete Energy Performance Certificates on New Build Commercial Properties. This does cover most of the commercial buildings in the UK.
The course will enable you to complete a joint level 3 and level 4 course, you will receive one certificate with both qualifications included.
The course has been designed for new entrants with little previous experience, however we do feel (due to some building complexities) that some form of buildings experience is a necessity but not mandatory, speak with us about your previous experience and we will let you know if we can get you a place on the course. The course is ideal for existing Domestic Energy Assessors looking to expand their portfolio of work.
There are 2 exams, a verbal role play session and a written (on computer) portfolio to complete, all will be completed within the course timetables, NETS will supply all buildings needed to practice survey.
Pre-class learning materials are available to view and download on the NETS website using the log in username and password sent to you at registration. Copies of the learning material and reference material including our portfolio guidance can be provided for candidates if requested or required.
The Non-Domestic Energy Assessor role requires a good level of methodical competence whilst inspecting many
varied commercial buildings and producing Energy Performance Certificates or BRUKL reports in a professional environment.
Once qualified, you will need to register with an accreditation company in order to produce Energy Performance Certificates, the accreditation body you choose will have their own application forms, terms and conditions. You will need to comply with industry standard CPD (Continual Professional Development) which is recommended as 15 hours per year for a Level 3 and 4 assessor.
